- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1 jalapeño, chopped
- 1 can (15 ounces) peeled whole tomatoes, chopped OR 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh tomatoes
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 to 4 tablespoons hot sauce, such as Crystal Tabasco, to taste
- 1 avocado, cut into piece
Instructions

- Place the cut shrimp in a bowl with chopped red onion, cucumber, celery, jalapeño, tomatoes, tomato sauce, coriander, lemon juice and hot sauce.
- Combine all the ingredients so that everything is gently incorporated. Place the bowl in the refrigerator for an hour or up until serving.
- When ready to be served, add the salt, the hot sauce to taste, the chopped avocado and mix everything.
- Place the remaining whole shrimp in the cocktail so that they sit at the top.
- Cocktail can be served in individual cups or in small bowls with tortilla chips on the side.
