Best. Fiesta. Ever.

Granted, my Fiesta experience is limited (crazy fiestas in Tijuana notwithstanding), but this little gem of a supermarket is above and beyond better than any other place in Houston for one thing...wine. That's right, this wine selection tops stalwarts such as Central Market and Whole foods, and is right there with Spec's. It isn't the selection that I'm necessarily talking about, but it is the price. The high-end wines here are out of this world great as far as pricing goes, you'll be hard pressed to find something as cheap even online.

Case in point.

My first wine-buying experience at this Fiesta was for Valentine's Day. I wanted to get my wife a nice bottle of wine and cook something tasty up for dinner (Dinner for Two from Central Market? Sure!) Having remembered that Fiesta has her favorite, I headed on over. A bottle of Cakebread Cellars Merlot for $57? Unheard of. The Cabernet Sauvignon for just a few dollars more? Even better. You can't beat these prices. I have continued to pursue high-end wines at rock-bottom prices, and recently scored a 2003 bottle of Silver Oak Napa valley for a mere $77. These puppies retail online for over $100. Game. Set. Fiesta.

So if you want a fancy-pants bottle of wine for "I got these pants at Ross" prices, head on over to the Dunlavy Fiesta and treat yourself to some amazing wine.

It was a party for sure.  If you saw me there, I'm sorry if I looked ridiculous dancing down each aisle bobbing my head with the oldies jams but they were PLAYIN MAH SONGS!  

Beyond that, I have to give this Fiesta mad props for having some fresh produce (and competitive prices compared to the other locations right down the street for the exact SAME thing.  I guess I like the fact that this Fiesta has none of the stuff that a regular Fiesta has - unlike Eve F.  

Listen, you are in the Montrose-y area.  What do you expect?  I for instance did not expect to find guarana infused soda.  Did I find the aloe vera brand drink that the Fiesta on Bellaire carries?  No.  But did the store make up in cleanliness and other interesting assortment of oddities?  Absolutely.

*Also, my check out experience with Devin was fantastic.  He and I have now developed a repoire and I feel like he is my best check out cashier for life.  Not only did he make me feel fabulous (weird story not needed here), but he was genuine and that counts for a lot for someone who is forced to stand all day on Easter Sunday.

I think I've found my new stomping store!

Shopped here since I was a little kiddo! They have an awesome selection of health food/special diet items. I love the people that work there... so friendly. It has a really small town feel to it.
